OUR IMPACT

Conflict Resolution Education as a Community Challenge

  • Agree Online is reducing escalation of digital conflicts by educating the kids to avoid and resolve conflicts, independently, on digital platforms such as WhatsApp, YouTube and Instagram, and by developing tools that assist them in doing so.

  • One of the recommendations of studies on cyberspace's dangers is that a positive presence should be created in places at risk. Agree Online helps to create such a presence of appropriately trained children: as parties to the conflict, as young mediators and active members of digital groups.

  • Such children are powerful ambassadors of the idea that every conflict has a creative solution that, if found, by the children themselves or their friends, can be of benefit to all parties involved.

  • Finding such a solution, before the conflict escalates into cyberbullying or becomes irreconcilable, can lead to empowering children and significantly improving the quality of life in communities in which we all live

OUR PARTNERS

Providers of Conflict Resolution Education

  • Providers of Conflict Resolution Education (CRE) and Mediation programs, that are working with schoolchildren, incorporate Agree Online to their currently offline programs. Doing so, they add a much-needed digital flavor to their programs, making them more appealing to the Z-generation.

  • Analyzing digital conflicts and training in solving them is easy and fun, increasing students' engagement and satisfaction. The platform is easily used by mediators, students, or volunteers serving as CRE guides.

OUR CUSTOMERS

Cities and Schools

  • We are providing the platform, as well as a complete training and content kit, to schools and teachers. The teachers can use the platform not only for conveying the content, but also as a unique tool to resolve digital conflicts arising in class.

  • We work with cities to implement the platform across city schools. City wide implementation promotes a culture of cooperation and fairness and thus leads to strengthening the community and empowering its children.

  • Analysis of the data collected provides insights about the behavior of children in digital conflict and enable decision makers to decide on the type of intervention required.

A Teacher Perspective

"Agree Online's program was taught professionally and with great tolerance … The children were enthusiastic about the concept, learned to operate the platform easily and enjoyed it very much … The contribution of the system was demonstrated in its ability to teach students to develop creative solutions to their conflicts and to those of their peers … The digital platform proved to be a very efficient learning tool. The lessons gave introverted students, the less socially dominant and those who did not participate much during class discussions, a unique and valuable empowerment … This huge donation is undoubtedly a lifelong gift for the children"

OUR USERS

Children in Elementary, Junior-High and High School

  • Agree Online leads children to an active and practical experience in the digital space, while dealing with digital dilemmas of the kind that they face. Agree Online is different from existing programs by focusing on digital conflicts, by using advanced learning technologies and by offering a secure digital environment that simulates real digital space (social networking, gaming). Learning is integrated into a game that makes it exciting and fascinating.

  • Elementary school children are already participating in activities of their age group, both at school and outside. It is, therefore, the right age to acquire digital life skills and digital conflict resolution skills. At this stage of their development, they are expected to acquire social skills and to study in competitive environment that naturally raises disputes and disagreements. Today, children need to master these skills in digital space as well.

  • Children in junior-high and high school are finding themselves in a new environment full of social challenges, which also requires a suitable program for them. Implementation of Agree Online's program during the first year of the junior-high / high school, influences and shapes the social atmosphere in the class, creating a positive approach from day one.

AGREE ONLINE IN CLASS

From Digital Natives to Digital Citizens

  • Today's children are indeed digital natives, who are highly skilled in operating technological means. But they are not equipped with social skills relevant to the present era. Digital conflict resolution skills do not develop spontaneously, and must be taught at an early age using digital tools.

  • Agree Online's digital platform is at the heart of an educational program that teaches children the relevant skills for peaceful digital conflict resolution using appropriate learning technologies for the Z-generation. Agree Online does so by creating a secure digital environment that includes their classmates and led by their teacher.

  • The program teach children the values, knowledge, life skills, and tools needed to resolve digital conflicts. The children learn about the special characteristics of digital conflicts and practice resolving them peacefully. The wisdom of the class is leveraged to find creative solutions to conflicts. Children also learn to distinguish between digital conflict and cyberbullying.

DIGITAL CONFLICTS

Special Characteristics, Difficult to Resolve

  • Conflicts are part of social life. Children quarrel everywhere, and conflicts continue to arise in the classroom, lunchroom, library, school bus, playground and any place where kids gather. But, in recent years children have more and more conflicts in the digital space.

  • Digital conflicts, unlike violence and cyberbullying, are a natural and common result of today's kids' digital life. Since digital conflicts can escalate to violence and cyberbullying, the need to avoid digital conflicts and to resolve them is an issue of paramount importance to the personal and social functioning of children.

  • Today, almost all kid's conflicts are digital conflicts. Digital conflicts occur in the digital space, and physical conflicts reach the digital space quickly. Digital conflicts also affect kid's relationships outside the digital space.

  • Digital conflicts have special characteristics. They flare up fast, take place in front of active members of digital groups, and are preserved over time. They are held without restrictions of place or time and without the presence of a responsible adult. They include the use of digital tools (such as like, block, remove) and Emojis, which are often vague and unclear.

EDUCATING KIDS TO RESOLVE DIGITAL CONFLICTS

Before They Escalate to Violence and Cyberbullying

Agree Online contributes to preventing digital conflicts, and resolving them, by educating the digital natives of the Z-generation to become digital citizens with updated social skills that fit the digital age.
